Our Community
Our community has its roots in the late 18th century when the Loyalists and their Mohawk allies settled here at the end of the American Revolution. Today, the County of Lennox and Addington is home to over 40,500 Ontarians, most of them living in and around the town of Napanee. In extent, our county stretches from the shores of Lake Ontario northwards to the pine forests and granite hills of the Canadian Shield.
Farming, tourism, retail services, and manufacturing form the basis of our economy. Only several hours’ drive from Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal, Lennox and Addington County offers a combination of traditional small town and country living with easy access to major urban centres.
