The Family Support Program

Is a child and family centered community service designed to assist families who have a child(ren) from birth to 18 years, living at home, who has a diagnosed developmental and/or physical disability.

Areas of assistance may include:

  • Assessment of the child and family’s needs and resources
  • Short and long term planning to address current and anticipated needs
  • Assist with funding applications including researching, brokering and advocating
  • We act as advocates with parents on the child’s behalf with required
  • Support the family to promote and negotiate their child’s access to services and community supports that will enhance developmental progress and quality of life
  • We provide information, suggestions and resources such as school information and disability related groups/information
  • Offer respite opportunities through our summer and march break camp
  • Provide information and referrals to other respite services within the area and outside of the area
  • Provide case management and case coordination services
